Kaleidoscope.TO, in partnership with the City of Toronto, is breaking new ground by bringing poetry to life through augmented reality, interactive web experiences, video, and QR code technology. This innovative approach allows users to engage with poets' work in a transformative way, enhancing its impact and meaning. The TO Poets Department journey invites users to interact with the poems in a unique manner, culminating in an interactive experience at the end of the journey.

Poet 1
Lillian Allen, the seventh Poet Laureate of Toronto and a professor at OCAD, is a two-time JUNO Award winner known for her influential work in spoken word and dub poetry. She creatively blends old and new sounds to form her unique brand of Canadian reggae.

Poet 2
Shahaddah Jack, a 20-year-old bilingual spoken word poet and human rights activist, hails from Tkaronto, drawing inspiration from her diverse cultural roots.

Poet 3
Randell Adjei is an Author, Inspirational Speaker, Arts Educator, and Community Leader who uses the spoken word to empower and transform through Edutainment. He is the founder of one of Toronto's largest and longest-running youth-led initiatives, Reaching Intelligent Souls Everywhere (R.I.S.E Edutainment).

Poet 4
Bill Bissett is a Canadian poet known for his unconventional style, marked by unique spelling and visual elements. He performs "concrete sound" poetry, which includes sound effects, chanting, barefoot dancing, and playing a maraca. Frank Davey described him as someone who "rejects the conventional world" through radical changes to syntax and spelling.

Poet 5
Mehnaz Lamia (Mia) is an international student from Bangladesh. She is a recent graduate of the Creative Writing program at OCAD University and has a deep passion for poetry and storytelling. As a poet, she engages with language to highlight her own lived experiences while creating a safe space for others to share theirs.

Poet 6
Reem Rizk (she/her) is an author specializing in the intersections of literary and visual arts. She is motivated by the impacts of community and creativity. She is the founder of the publishing space Siren’s Muse and the editor-in-chief of the Petal Projections literary magazine.
Graffiti Artist
Moises is a self-taught graffiti artist who turned his hobby into a career. Growing up painting on the streets, he became serious about art at 16 and decided to pursue it professionally.

Beyond his artwork, Moises is involved in arts education programs to engage youth. He teaches in the Jane and Finch area and Scarborough, working in various settings such as community centers and shelters, sharing his hip-hop graffiti style and personal story.

At the Small Arms Society residency program, he aims to bring the hip-hop subculture to the community. His goal is to empower Mississauga's youth by providing valuable knowledge and skills while demonstrating the impact that graffiti and art can have.
